Chief Executive Officer | TSCM USA Group

JC Bastidas is the Chief Executive Officer of TSCM USA Group, with offices in New York, California, Florida, and Arizona. His extensive law enforcement and investigative experience with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) contributes to the company’s professional and discreet approach to Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), electronic surveillance detection, and bug sweep services.

During his NYPD career, Mr. Bastidas served in assignments involving Counterterrorism, the Technical Assistance Response Unit (TARU), Detective, Risk Management, Narcotics, Warrants, Patrol, and Transit bureaus.

His responsibilities included supervising detectives and police officers, leading criminal investigations, and conducting security audits and risk assessments.

His assignments included security work at prominent New York City locations, including the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, Grand Central Terminal, John F. Kennedy International Airport, LaGuardia Airport, the New York Stock Exchange, and the United Nations.

Mr. Bastidas also worked at major sporting venues, financial institutions, media locations, and diplomatic consulates throughout New York City.

Mr. Bastidas earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in Education from St. John’s University

Today, Mr. Bastidas brings his law enforcement, investigative, supervisory, and security experience to TSCM USA Group, helping clients address concerns involving privacy, electronic surveillance, and technical security.

TSCM Coordinator | TSCM USA Group

Michael Cappello is a TSCM Coordinator with TSCM USA Group and a retired NYPD Sergeant with 20 years of law enforcement service. His extensive investigative and technical experience contributes to the company’s professional approach to Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), electronic surveillance detection, and bug sweep services nationwide.

During his NYPD career, Mr. Cappello served in assignments that included the Technical Assistance Response Unit (TARU), Quality Assurance Division, and Internal Affairs Bureau. He also served as an Integrity Control Officer at multiple NYPD precincts.

At TSCM USA Group, Mr. Cappello coordinates teams deployed throughout the United States. His responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, communicating with clients and technicians, coordinating inspections, and helping ensure that each assignment is conducted professionally and according to the client's specific requirements.

Mr. Cappello conducts hundreds of TSCM inspections and bug sweeps throughout the United States each year, bringing extensive field experience to residential, corporate, and other sensitive environments.

Mr. Cappello received extensive NYPD training in supervisory leadership, counter-surveillance and bug detection, internal investigations, integrity control, surveillance, criminal investigations, crisis response, defensive driving, CPR/AED, and hazardous materials response.

His additional training included active-shooter response, special victims investigations, and hostage negotiation.

Mr. Cappello holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the College of Staten Island.
